Founded in 1929, the Museum of Modern Art was the first museum in the world to concentrate on modern art.  Today, MoMA has one of the most extraordinary permanent art collections in the world, which includes 135,000 paintings, drawings, films, designs, sculptures, photographs and prints.  In addition, the Museum is host to a continuous rotating series of temporary exhibitions.  If visiting with kids in tow, the Museum of Modern Art New York offers a variety of programs geared toward children and families.

MoMA features several dining options, including the Michelin star holder The Modern, and two cafés, Cafe 2 and Terrace 5.

Are cameras allowed in the museum?

Still photography for personal use is allowed in collection galleries only and may not be reproduced. Videotaping is only allowed in the lobby.
